Geely's Galaxy E5 has made an impressive debut, with August sales reaching 12,230 units, making it the first A-segment all-electric SUV in China to surpass 10,000 sales in its launch month.
The Galaxy E5, which was officially unveiled on August 3rd and began deliveries on the same day, achieved this milestone just 20 days after its market launch.
Priced between 109,800 - 145,800 yuan, the E5 also became the best-selling model under the Galaxy brand, exceeding the L6 and L7 already.
The Galaxy series sold a total of 26,510 vehicles in August, up 59% from the previous month, a record single-month sales.
Cumulative sales of the series have exceeded 208,000 units in only 15 months.
Record Market Debut
The early success of the Galaxy E5 reflects its strong appeal to Chinese consumers, particularly among young families.
According to data, 68% of early buyers are male, and 32% are female, with nearly 41% of users aged between 30 and 40 years old.
Additionally, almost 80% of the users are married, aligning with the vehicle's positioning as a family-oriented electric SUV.

Among the different variants, the 530km Exploration+ edition was the most popular, chosen by 48% of buyers, followed by the 530km Starship edition at 16%.
The most favored color was Silver Stream, with Morning Fog Gray and Dawn White also being popular choices.
Geely Auto Group CEO Gan Jiayue highlighted the significance of the Galaxy E5, stating, "We have incorporated the best of Geely's current technologies into this A-segment mainstream electric SUV."

Although the Galaxy series debuted only last year, it has already achieved significant milestones.
For instance, the Galaxy L7 and L6 reached cumulative sales of 100,000 units in just eight months.
Additionally, the Galaxy E8 won five top international design awards within a single quarter, making it the only Chinese brand model to achieve such a feat.
The "Galaxy Speed" is also noteworthy, with over 208,000 units sold in just 15 months since the series' launch.
The Galaxy E5 is packed with advanced technologies, including the GEA global intelligent new energy architecture, the cutting-edge Short Blade Battery, Galaxy's 11-in-1 intelligent electric drive system, and the Flyme Auto in-car system.

Although the E5 is classified as an A-segment vehicle, its design and layout based on the new architecture give it a space experience comparable to that of B-segment vehicles.
The E5 boasts a "space utilization rate" of 67.2%, which refers to the ratio of usable interior space over total exterior vehicle volume.

The E5 leverages Geely's self-developed G-TCS all-weather traction control system, Galaxy's 11-in-1 intelligent electric drive, and the next-generation LFP Short Blade Battery to achieve energy efficiencies as low as 11.9 kWh per 100 kilometers.
For reference, the Tesla Model 3 RWD version can achieve power consumption of 13.2 kWh/100km according to WLTP standards.
