XPeng Motors will unveil the upgraded 2025 X9 electric MPV on April 8, introducing significant comfort-focused improvements to its flagship seven-seater.

The facelift comes just over a year after the model's initial launch, building on its position as one of the best-selling pure-electric MPV in 2024.

He Xiaopeng noted the X9 had already set class benchmarks in intelligence, handling and space, with the new version pushing further in comfort optimization.

Key enhancements include a redesigned cabin layout that now accommodates both a central aisle and zero-gravity seats, addressing what was previously a compromise for buyers.

The suspension system has been retuned for improved ride quality, while new 360-degree noise insulation measures significantly reduce cabin sound levels.

XPENG X9 | RETAIL & EXPORT SALES (in 000s)

XPeng has consistently sold 1,500 units of the MPV per month, reaching a peak month in March 2024 with 3,946 units delivered.

However, the MPV has sold less than 1,000 units per month in China (retail sales) through January and February of 2025.

Sales in February were helped by 483 units delivered to export markets, including 300 X9 shipped to Thailand.

The updated model retains the X9's signature 800V ultra-fast charging architecture, capable of adding 300 km of CLTC range in just 10 minutes. Buyers can still choose between battery options delivering up to 702 km of range.

Priced between 359,800 and 419,800 CNY, the X9's substantial 5.3-meter length and 3.16-meter wheelbase continue to offer one of the most spacious interiors in its class.

The aluminum-intensive chassis supports premium features including a 23-speaker Xopera audio system, six-zone voice control, and a 21.4-inch rear entertainment display.

With its dual-motor setup producing 640 N·m of torque, the X9 maintains impressive performance credentials for an MPV, reaching 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds.
