Audi has officially launched the Q6L e‑tron family in China, including the standard SUV and the Sportback variant, with prices starting at 348,800 yuan (c. $48,600) for the base Long‑Range model and rising to 398,800 yuan (c. $55,500) for the top-tier Sportback Pioneer edition.

The debut took place on August 8, and the models were offered with a range of purchase incentives and customization options.

This pricing slightly undercuts previous pre-sale listings—which ranged from 353,000 to 403,000 yuan—reflecting Audi’s strategic adjustment ahead of delivery.

The offering now includes a range of benefits including a 5,000‑yuan deposit that covers 10,000 yuan on the final purchase, a 10,000‑yuan insurance subsidy, and complimentary lifetime use of Huawei’s Qiankun Advanced Driving System (ADS).

This China launch builds on Audi’s global platform efforts and introduces a unique extended-wheelbase model tailored for Chinese consumers.

The new Q6L e-tron models are based on Audi’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, equipped with an 800‑volt system supporting up to 270 kW DC fast charging.

The extended-wheelbase models are powered by a 107 kWh battery, enabling CLTC-tested range options of 709 km, 715 km, 752 km, and 765 km (c. 440–475 miles).

Performance is delivered via rear-wheel drive or all-wheel-drive systems, while the body dimensions (4,884 mm by 1,965 mm, wheelbase 2,995 mm) deliver class-leading interior space.

Audi continues its strategy of offering L-series vehicles with extended wheelbases for the Chinese market, a model previously applied to sedans such as the A6L and Q5L.

The Q6L e‑tron distinguishes itself further with a five‑screen digital cockpit layout, a dual OLED curved display with an anti‑peek feature, a 10.9‑inch second screen with screen sharing, a next-gen 88‑inch head‑up display, and a high-fidelity 830 W B&O sound system with headrest speakers.

In terms of interior tech and driver assistance, the Q6L e‑tron is fitted with Huawei’s Qiankun suite, featuring LiDAR and multi‑sensor fusion for enhanced safety and semi‑autonomous functionality.

The combination of long EV range, advanced digital features, and targeted incentives clearly signals Audi’s intent to carve a premium niche within China’s competitive EV landscape.

While global Q6 e‑tron variants remain available, the Q6L’s bespoke design and feature set underscore a deeper commitment to aligning with Chinese consumer expectations for space, tech, and luxury.

Pricing incentives and attractive launch terms in addition to its integration with Huawei may help bolster Audi’s competitiveness against Tesla and Chinese premium EV brands like NIO, Denza, and Li Auto.

At the moment, Audi offers two all-electric vehicles in the Chinese market, the Q4 e-tron and Q5 e-tron, both of which sells less than 1,000 monthly units. In June, the Q4 and Q5 e-tron delivered only 593 and 109 units, respectively.

With deliveries expected to begin promptly following the August debut, Audi hopes that its “L” variant will carve out part of China’s luxury electric SUV market.
