On July 3rd, BYD held the "One Million Strong Han, Moving Forward – 1,000,000th Han Owner Handover and Han L Track Experience Day" event at the Hefei racetrack.

BYD began delivering the Han model in China in July 2020 as part of its Dynasty line-up and quickly became one of the company’s best-selling and most iconic model.

In just 60 months or 5 years, BYD delivered 1 million Han model (excluding Han L). That far exceeds the total of cars delivered of some of the emerging automakers’ entire vehicle lineup.

For example, NIO and XPeng delivered 333,949 and 385,901 vehicles through their first 60 months. Only Li Auto managed to delivered 1,000,000 vehicles by the 58th month from delivery start.

Meanwhile, it took the Tesla Shanghai Giga 49 months to deliver 1 million Model 3 and reached 1,356,068 units by the 60th month.

At the press conference, Zhao Lina, former national women's football team goalkeeper and Asian Cup champion, who is the 1,000,000th Han owner, also attended.

The model she chose was the Han L, a new variant of the Han family that was launched on April 9, 2025.

The Han L is a groundbreaking flagship sedan that introduced to the market the first megawatt-level flash charging, delivering up to 400 km of range in just five minutes.

For three consecutive months since its launch, the Han L has surpassed 10,000 monthly units in sales, making it one of the best selling EVs in this segment.

The Han L is the world’s first mass-produced 30,000 rpm electric drive unit capable of outputting up to 580kW per motor.

The four-wheel drive variant can achieve 810kW (1,102 horsepower) and a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in just 2.7 seconds, 100-200 km/h acceleration in just 4.74 seconds, and a top speed exceeding 305 km/h.

In terms of handling, the Han L features a supercar-grade front double-wishbone and rear five-link suspension, ensuring rock-solid stability whether cornering at high speeds or executing emergency maneuvers.

It comes standard with self-developed racing-grade high-performance 4-piston calipers, achieving a 100-0 km/h braking distance of only 33 meters.

The CTB (Cell to Body) architecture enhances body rigidity by 30% and lowers the center of gravity by 15mm, allowing the vehicle to firmly grip the ground.

The Han L also integrates numerous cutting-edge electronic control technologies, including BYD's full-stack self-developed DiSus-C, iTAC, and iCVC.

The DiSus-C intelligent damping system, part of BYD’s full-stack DiSus body control platform, actively adjusts suspension stiffness in real time to balance ride quality and handling across varying road conditions

The iTAC (intelligent Torque Allocation Control) dynamically redistributes torque between the wheels to optimize traction and stability—especially useful during aggressive acceleration or slippery road surfaces.

The iCVC (intelligent Chassis Vectoring Control) rounds out the Han L by precisely coordinating steering, braking, and throttle responses to improve cornering capability, agility, and overall driving confidence.

Beyond technology, the Han L also features trendy design and ample customization choices. At the press conference, several owners, including Zeng Yingzhuo, co-founder of "Dajia Che Yanlun" (Everyone's Car Review), showcased their unique modified versions, creating personalized dream cars that reflect their individual tastes and preferences.

At the track experience day, BYD also unveiled a custom "Itasha" (car decorated with anime/manga characters) in collaboration with "Black Myth: Wukong."

The Han L Track Experience Day offered a complete range of activities, including straight-line acceleration and deceleration, gymkhana slalom (timed course with obstacles), track experience, and high-speed AEB (automatic emergency braking) testing.

BYD also officially announced its plan to transform "Track Day" into a user experience day in the future, inviting Han L owners annually to participate in professional track training and open track experiences. As Lu Tian, GM of BYD Dynasty Network Sales Division stated: "Performance is not a privilege for the few, but a joy accessible to everyone!"
