BYD Han L leaks: 30,500 rpm, 0-100km/h in 2.7s, -30°C full charge under 24 min

BYD has officially unveiled its Han L and Tang L models on January 17, with more details to be released in March. Pricing information remains undisclosed.

According to a recent report from the difans.cn, the BYD Han L is equipped with super-fast charging even under extreme cold conditions.

At -30°C, the vehicle can charge from 16% to 80% in just ten minutes using a 120kW dual-gun charging pile, and from 80% to 100% in fourteen minutes.

Charging records indicate that the vehicle can reach full charge from 16% in just 24 minutes.

The report also revealed that the BYD Han L EV features a 580 kW super motor with a rated power of 300 kW, operating at a rated voltage of 945 volts (1000V platform) and a maximum speed of 30,500 rpm (revolutions per minute).

This level of rpm, which is the number of times an engine’s shaft rotates in a minute, exceed even the V6/V6s (21,000 rpm) in the Xiaomi SU7 and V8s (27,200 rpm) in the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra.

The vehicle can also achieve a CLTC range of over 1000 kilometers and a 6C charging power.

The new model, designed by BYD's global design director Wolfgang Egger, carries the new generation “Loong Face” design, replacing the previous “Dragon Face” design.

The car's exterior emphasizes a grand and dynamic appearance, with an active front vent, "dragon whiskers" on the fenders, and hidden front door handles that visually integrate with the body. The rear features "Phoenix Feather" taillights.

The Han L offers two powertrain options: pure electric (EV) and plug-in hybrid (DM).

  • The EV variant is built on the "Super e Platform" featuring the new blade battery, with a single motor delivering up to 500kW and dual motors providing 230kW and 580kW, respectively. The fastest 0-100 km/h acceleration is 2.7 seconds.

  • The PHEV variant is equipped with the latest fifth-generation DM technology, a 1.5T engine that can deliver a maximum power of 115kW, and the motor provides up to 200kW (DM-p model with dual motors).

  • It offers 145km and 170km pure electric range options, with the fastest 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.9 seconds.
