AUTOBEST Chairman Dan Vardie added that “This award is a recognition of the company's outstanding performance. BYD's high-quality development in technology, models and brand is amazing."
By the end of 2025, BYD expects to expand its sales network to more than 500 dealerships in Europe.
BYD’s export volume has been on a flat trend since the EU tariffs have been implemented officially on July 5, 2024.
The new tariffs were imposed on a case-by-case on top of the EU tariffs of 10%. BYD faces additional 17.4% tariffs rate, lower than Geely’s 19.9% and SAIC’s 37.6% tariffs rate.

BYD’s extra tariffs are the second lowest, behind Tesla’s 7.8%. If export volume is any indication, EU tariffs did effectively slow down BYD’s growth in Europe, delivering 27.841 vehicles to global markets in November 2024.
Moreover, BYD has now experienced two consecutive month of export decline year-over-year, with October and November exports falling by 9.4% and 9.1% YoY, respectively.
On a cumulative basis, BYD’s total export in 2024 remains robust with 349,197 vehicles exported to international markets, compared to 206,664 units in 2023 at this time of the year, a 69% year-on-year growth.
