Fangchengbao (FCB), a higher-end brand under BYD (HKG:1211), has recorded more than 50,000 sales of the T7 within 80 days of its market launch on September 9, 2025.

The model reached 50,152 units as of November 26, 2025, during a year when China’s new-energy vehicle market has shown slower growth. The T7’s early volume has positioned it among the fastest-scaling SUVs in China’s plug-in-hybrid segment.

The company introduced the T7 in China with four configurations priced at 219,800 CNY (c. $31,100), 206,800 CNY (c. $29,200), 189,800 CNY (c. $26,800), and 179,800 CNY (c. $25,400). Deliveries began in September.

The variants differ by drivetrain layout and electric-range ratings, including 135 km (84 miles), 190 km (118 miles), and 200 km (124 miles) CLTC figures. The model targets family buyers seeking a box-style SUV with plug-in-hybrid capability.

The T7’s sales momentum comes as year-to-date NEV penetration growth fell below four percentage points between January and September 2025. Plug-in hybrids contributed 15.1% of the decline, while BYD reduced its annual sales target from 5.5 million to 4.6 million units.

Fangchengbao positions the T7 as a “household hard-core SUV,” combining upright exterior proportions with cabin layouts aimed at families with one or two children. The model measures 4,999 mm in length, 1,995 mm in width, 1,865 mm in height, and 2,920 mm in wheelbase.

The cabin includes 3.3 meters of longitudinal space, 47 storage compartments, and 970 liters of cargo capacity with the rear seats upright.

The interior combines a 15.6-inch central display, a 12.3-inch instrument panel, and a 27-inch head-up display. Software features run on the DiLink 150 system and incorporate the DeepSeek AI model. Functions include multi-zone voice control, an app library, facial recognition, and cross-device content sharing.

The vehicle supports accessories such as a child seat, pet seat, massager, and action camera, along with Alipay voice payments and an Ant Forest (gamified carbon-reduction program) integration.

Driver-assistance functions vary by configuration. The higher-spec system uses one LiDAR module, 30 sensors, and an NVIDIA Orin-X processor rated at 254 TOPS, enabling city- and highway-assist driving and automated parking.

The T7 is built on BYD’s plug-in hybrid architecture with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 115 kW. The front-wheel-drive version uses a 200-kW motor, and the four-wheel-drive derivative adds a second motor for a combined 360-kW output.

Acceleration from zero to 100 km/h is 4.5 seconds for the 4WD model and 7.9 seconds for the FWD version. Top speed is 190 km/h (118 mph).

Battery packages of 26.6 kWh and 35.6 kWh are available. Fast charging moves the battery from 30% to 80% in 17.5 minutes. Combined range reaches 1,300 km (808 miles), supported by a 60-liter fuel tank. External discharge capability is rated at 6 kW.

The chassis uses a front double-wishbone and rear five-link layout. Upper trims include the YunNian-C damping system, predictive suspension control, and tire-blowout handling up to 140 km/h (87 mph).

Production scaling has been supported by BYD’s broader manufacturing ecosystem, enabling Fangchengbao to accelerate supply of a segment that has historically served niche demand. The T7’s trajectory raises whether box-style plug-in hybrids can maintain broader market appeal as China’s mid-large SUV segment evolves.
