Chinese NEV startup Leapmotor reaches 800,000 cumulative deliveries

On June 18, 2025, emerging Chinese NEV automaker Leapmotor announced that it has exceeded 800,000 cumulative vehicle deliveries.
Founded in 2015 by Zhu Jiangming on December 24, 2015 and backed by Stellantis with a 1.5 billion EUR investment in October 2023, Leapmotor has rapidly grown by selling affordable all-electric and extended-range electric vehicles (EREV) packed with value.

This strategy has allowed them to quickly expand their product portfolio and market presence within China's extremely competitive auto industry.
In May, Leapmotor sold 45,067 vehicles, a 148% year-over-year jump. That includes 3,658 units to export markets.
Year-to-date, the startup sold 149,732 NEVs locally and exported 17,290 vehicle.
Diverse Model Lineup
Leapmotor currently features a lineup of six models on sale, catering to various market segments, including sedans, SUVs, and a compact city car.
The company's naming convention uses "T" for its most affordable compact car (T03), “B” for its entry-level SUV starting at below 100,000 RMB (B10) and "C" for their more mainstream models, including one sedan and three SUVs.
The “C” series include the C01, a mid-to-large-sized electric sedan; the C10, a global-focused mid-sized SUV; the C11, another mid-sized SUV; and the new C16, a full-size SUV.

The Latest Addition: 2026 Leapmotor C10
The 2026 Leapmotor C10, a mid-sized SUV specifically designed for global markets and targeting young family users, was launched on May 15 in five variants, with prices ranging from 122,800 to 142,800 RMB.
Built on Leapmotor's advanced LEAP3.5 technical architecture, the C10 brings substantial upgrades across four key areas: range, driving dynamics, intelligence, and design.

The C10 will feature an 800V high-voltage platform and will also include LiDAR-assisted driving capabilities.
The C10 is available with two types of powertrains: a pure electric (EV) and an extended-range electric (EREV) option. The EV version features a full-domain 800V high-voltage silicon carbide platform and a 74.9 kWh battery pack, providing a CLTC range of 605 km.

The 800V ultra-fast charging technology allows for a rapid charge from 30% to 80% in just 16 minutes, nearly doubling the charging speed compared to mid-voltage platforms.
The EREV variant combines a 28.4 kWh battery pack with a 50L fuel tank for an impressive 1,190 km comprehensive range and 210 km of pure electric range and can charge from 30% to 80% in 18 minutes.
Its CLTC fuel consumption is remarkably efficient at just 5.1 L/100km, ensuring both economical daily commutes and flexible long-distance travel.

2026 Refresh Cycle
Leapmotor is not slowing down its product refresh cycle, with the 2026 Leapmotor C16 update that brings an 800V system to its all-electric full-size SUV.

Additionally, the company is actively expanding its "B" series lineup, as the B01 (body type yet to be officially confirmed, but likely a sedan) opened for blind pre-orders between April 30 and May 20.
The Leapmotor B01, also built on the LEAP3.5 technical architecture, is expected to officially launch in July.

In terms of market reach, Leapmotor is committed to strengthening its sales network. The company plans to significantly increase its channel presence in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities throughout 2025, with a strong emphasis on improving the quality and operational capabilities of these channels.
By the end of 2025, Leapmotor aims to expand its coverage to an additional 80 previously uncovered cities and counties, pushing its coverage rate in prefecture-level cities and above to 90%.
