On May 30 at the Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center, Huawei and JAC Motors unveiled their executive electric sedan, the Maextro S800.

The Maextro S800 has since drawn plenty of comparison with Mercedes-Maybach with its two-tone classic executive saloon design.

Through the first 24 hours of launch, Maextro announced having received over 1,600 pre-orders, with 1,000 of those coming through the first hour.

Price Overview

The Maextro S800 comes in several configurations. The Galaxy Enjoyment Edition is priced at 708,000 RMB (c. 98,000 USD), while the Radiant Enjoyment Edition costs 788,000 RMB (c. 110,000 USD), and the Radiant Executive Edition is 818,000 RMB (c. 115,000 USD).

The most expensive variant is the Galaxy Executive Edition priced at 1,018,000 RMB (c. 141,000 USD).

Exquisite design and aerodynamics

The Maextro S800's exterior blends technology and classic luxury with its unique dual-million-pixel "Galaxy Headlights," crafted through nearly a hundred processes.

The "Nebula Scroll" taillights and "Star-Holding" door handles use multi-layer mapping for a distinctive illuminated look. The vehicle's flowing lines and flat side windows enhance its aerodynamics.

The S800 features an impressive drag coefficient of 0.206 Cd when equipped with electronic side mirrors and low-drag wheels, while the drag coefficient slightly increases to 0.219 Cd with traditional physical side mirrors and standard wheels.

The two-tone body uses an advanced 6C4B paint process, meticulously applied through over 170 procedures, resulting in rich colors and exceptional texture. Unique wheel designs further emphasize the vehicle's premium aesthetic.

The S800 offers 6 body colors, 4 dual tone and 2 solid colors, including gold and black, silver and purple, black and white, brown and gold, champagne gold and black.

Smart gestures

The Maextro S800 boasts an intelligent electric door that integrates millimeter-wave radar and solid-state lidar to precisely detect obstacles, offering a maximum opening angle of 77°.

It also supports hands-free gesture control, enabling closing the vehicle’s door with a simple hand gesture.

A key connectivity feature is NearLink Huawei's Starflash technology, which significantly improves positioning accuracy and locking/unlocking precision compared to Bluetooth.

The illuminated "Star Emblem Flow" welcome light carpet and "Starlight Avenue" side wing light carpet create a highly ceremonial entry and exit experience.

Ultimate luxury for executives

With dimensions of 5,480×2,000×1,542mm (length/width/height) and a 3,370mm wheelbase, the Maextro S800 offers an excessive amount of interior space, typical of executive saloons.

The 3.4m² flat floor optimizes cabin layout. The first row provides 1,033mm headroom and 959mm legroom, while the second row offers 1,018mm headroom and 1,240mm legroom.

The interior features full-grain semi-aniline chrome-free tanned leather with meticulous stitching, and real wood trim undergoes extensive selection and processing for a unique natural rhythm. Five interior color options are available.

The rear cabin features 13 lights that automatically illuminate upon adjustment of the armrest storage box, small table, dual-temperature refrigerator, cup holders, privacy safe, and seat positions.

The front cabin features a triple-screen setup complemented by Huawei’s 76-inch head-up display (HUD) system projecting real-time driving data. The S800 also offers optional smart electronic rearview mirrors and supports eye-tracking for intuitive control.

The Maextro S800 also introduces the intelligent variable "Starry Sky Roof," displaying celestial effects like the Big Dipper and meteor showers.

Hidden ambient lighting harmonizes with the interior, resembling a flowing star river. The front windshield features a three-layer nano-silver coating, blocking over 99% of UV rays for enhanced comfort.

The Executive Four-Seater redefines luxury with industry-first dual zero-gravity rear seats. These ActiveSafe zero-gravity seats integrate with the ADS intelligent driving system to adjust support based on road conditions and occupant posture.

Door armrests, seat surfaces, and the center console all offer three temperature settings with graphene heating.

A 40-inch, retractable projection screen, along with a central rotor baffle and side wing screens, can completely block the front cabin, creating visual privacy. This setup also incorporates independent sound zone technology and noise-reducing headrests to ensure separate audio experiences for the front and rear passengers.

For further privacy, electrochromic technology enables dimming of glass panels with millisecond response times and over 99.6% sunlight reduction, controlled by hand gestures.

This, combined with a 2,200mm longitudinal stretch space and twelve function combinations, creates a private sanctuary.

To ensure a library-quiet cabin, the Maextro S800 employs a three-dimensional noise reduction system, including multi-layer soundproof glass and over 40kg of sound-absorbing materials, alongside RNC active noise cancellation. This limits interior noise to 56.7dB at 60km/h on rough roads.

Advanced driving dynamics

The Maextro S800 redefines human-vehicle interaction with "hands-free gesture summoning" for parking and retrieval.

Its in-car directional voice control system allows precise interaction, such as unlocking the rear door by pointing or adjusting the passenger seat.

The vehicle comes with the HUAWEI SOUND Ultimate audio system, featuring a 7.5.10 independent channel architecture, 43 speakers, and 2,920W of power.

The "Cosmic Orbit" sound mesh ensures 360° sound diffusion, while the new-generation "Star Ring Diffuser" delivers crystal-clear high frequencies.

The four-seat, four-speaker headrest audio system, with independent speakers in each headrest, precisely positions the sound field.

The Maextro S800 showcases luxury-grade craftsmanship throughout, from its hand-polished crystal components to its metal parts crafted with high precision.

The industry's first autonomous intelligent digital chassis, the TuLing Longxing platform, achieves millisecond-level "sensing-decision-execution" with 10 times the data processing capability of traditional chassis.

Its advanced suspension and multi-wheel steering system ensure "super maneuverability, super flexibility, super comfort, and super safety."

The innovative ±12° rear-wheel steering reduces the turning radius to 5.05 meters, and the crab-walk parking allows for flexible maneuvering.

The TuLing Longxing platform also features spatiotemporal inference suspension, which pre-scans the road to adjust suspension damping and body posture, reducing body undulation by 60% over bumps.

Equipped with the HUAWEI ADS 4.0 full-dimensional fusion perception system, featuring 36 high-performance sensors, the vehicle adeptly handles complex driving scenarios. It boasts a 99.7% decision accuracy in unprotected left turns and an average parking time of just 28 seconds.

Extended-range and pure electric options

The pure electric dual-motor version, with a 97kWh battery, has a CLTC comprehensive range of 702km and supports 5C ultra-fast charging.

For faster charging, another variant introduces the Snow Leopard smart boost platform, also operating on an 800V architecture. This model features a 65 kWh battery and an even more aggressive 6C charging capability, reducing the 10-80% charge time to just 10.5 minutes.

The Maextro S800 also offers an 800V Snow Owl intelligent extended-range (EREV) platform for "ultra-long range" variants.

A dual-motor configuration offers 1,333 km of comprehensive CLTC range, with a pure electric range of 400 km. For ultimate performance, a tri-motor configuration is available, offering 1,200 km CLTC range, with a pure electric range of 365 km.

The pure electric dual-motor version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. Meanwhile, the tri-motor and dual-motor EREV variants can achieve accelerations from 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and 4.9 seconds, respectively.

Robust safety features

The Maextro S800's new Basalt body architecture incorporates over 24% 1,500MPa+ hot-formed steel and over 92% ultra-high-strength steel and aluminum.

Its 2,000MPa reinforced integrated door ring provides exceptional side impact resistance, and the side roof can withstand up to 16 tons of pressure.

The vehicle's torsional rigidity of 53,300N•m/deg enhances stability and dissipates impact forces. Integrated aluminum alloy die-casting and a 3-chamber rear crash beam make its crash resistance 5 times that of national Chinese standards.

With 13 airbags, it offers 360° protection. The four-fold door lock mechanism integrates with the ADS system for automatic door unlocking and power cutoff during collisions.

In terms of new energy safety, the Maextro S800 features the Giant Whale battery platform 2.0, with a five-layer protection structure, high-safety thermoelectric separation, and dual liquid cooling plates that double the cooling rate.

The battery pack includes an active warning system for immediate power cutoff and pressure release. The cloud BMS battery management system provides 24/7 real-time monitoring and AI-powered health prediction.

The Maextro S800 also debuts the Angel Seat active safety system, which adjusts seat posture and tightens seatbelts before a frontal collision, and activates emergency services after.

It also features Gemini full-domain redundant safety design for system reliability and all-directional anti-collision capability.
