Leapmotor C16's Cumulative Orders Exceeded 10,000 Units in the First Month of Launch

Leapmotor's debut of the C16 (EREV and EV) mid-size SUV has taken the market by storm, securing over 10,000 orders within a month. It is quickly being a strong alternative to the much more expensive Li Auto L6.

Leapmotor C16's Cumulative Orders Exceeded 10,000 Units in the First Month of Launch

Leapmotor's new mid-size SUV, the Leapmotor C16, received in excess of 10,000 orders within the first month of launch. The vehicle was officially launched on the evening of June 28, offering both extended-range and pure electric versions.

The C16 comes in three configurations: Smart, Premium, and Intelligent Driving editions with a starting price of CNY 155,800.

The EREV version of the Leapmotor C16 is positioned as the more affordable alternative to the widely popular Li Auto L6, priced at CNY 249,800.

The Leapmotor C16 measures 4,915 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,770 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,825 mm. In comparison, the Li Auto L6's dimensions are 4,925/1,960/1,735 mm with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm.

Despite the C16's affordable price, the Leapmotor C16 is equipped with the latest NVIDIA Orin-X chip, Qualcomm Snapdragon SA82595P, and a LiDAR unit mounted on the front.

This six-seater SUV adopts a 2+2+2 seating layout, a 14.6 inch 2.5K high-resolution central infotainment screen, a 15.6 inch rear entertainment screen, a 21-speaker audio system, a large panoramic roof, three-zone independent AC, and an electric rear tailgate.

The pure electric version of the C16 uses an 800V silicon carbide high-voltage platform that can charge from 30-80% in 15 minutes. The car is equipped with a 67.6 kWh battery capable of 520 km in CLTC range with a 215 kW drive motor.

The extended-range (EREV) version has a 28.4 kWh battery and an impressive 200 km electric and 1,095 km cumulative range.

Leapmotor has four other vehicles on sale, including the T03 city car, the C10 and C11 SUVs, and the C01 sedan. Except for the T03, all other models are offered in both EREV and EV versions.

In June, Leapmotor had for the first time delivered in excess of 20,000 vehicles in a month. The company continues to climb NEV brand rankings, placing third in the second and third weeks of July, just behind Li Auto and AITO and displacing NIO and Zeekr to fourth and fifth.
