Chinese new energy vehicle maker Leapmotor has announced the deployment of the DeepSeek-R1 large language model within its Xiao Ling GPT large model, set to enhance their in-car AI assistant capabilities significantly.

Leapmotor's in-car AI assistant already supports multi-turn voice command interactions, text-to-image generation, and proactive learning.

The integration of the DeepSeek-R1 model will refine reasoning and logical processing for in-cabin interactions.

This upgrade promises improved natural language comprehension and faster personalized service responses, ensuring a more seamless and efficient experience in smart cockpit and human-machine interaction scenarios.

Leapmotor is one of the best-selling emerging NEV brands, ranking 3rd on the Li Auto weekly ranking with 9,500 vehicles delivered through January 20 to February 2, 2025.

The trend of integrating DeepSeek models is rapidly gaining traction in the tech and automotive industries.

On February 8, Dongfeng Motor announced the full integration of DeepSeek's large language models into its entire passenger vehicle lineup under its wholly-owned brands.

VOYAH, M-Hero, eπ, Aeolus, and Nammi will soon incorporate the AI-powered system.

SAIC-GM-Wuling's Baojun brand announced that its Lingyu smart cockpit has been deeply integrated with the DeepSeek AI large model.

Meanwhile, IM Motors is incorporating DeepSeek into its smart cockpit and collaborating with other AI models like Doubao and Tongyi Qianwen (Qwen) to build a multi-scenario AI matrix platform.

On February 7, Dongfeng Motor's VOYAH disclosed that its COURAGE SUV will be the brand's first model to feature DeepSeek's technology.

The DREAM MPV will also incorporate this technology. Furthermore, VOYAH's AI agent will continuously integrate with DeepSeek-R1 in the cloud, enhancing voice interactions and scenario-based recommendations for a more intuitive driving experience.

On February 6, Geely confirmed that its self-developed Xingrui AI model has completed deep integration (no pun intended) of DeepSeek.

Geely plans to refine its Xingrui FunctionCall model and other AI-driven vehicle interaction systems to accelerate the adoption of AI in smart vehicles.
