On June 21, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released declaration information on the Li Auto i6, the company’s third all-electric model, behind the Li Auto MEGA and the yet delivered Li Auto i8.
The Li Auto i6 is one of the most anticipated all-electric vehicle model launch of 2025 and the company’s CEO, Li Xiang, predicts that it will form a trio “67Y” between the i6, Xiaomi YU7, and Tesla Model Y for best-selling EVs in this segment.

Given Li Auto’s tremendous success with its lineup of EREV, far outselling its competition with only 4 SUV models (all EREVs) and 1 MPV (all-electric), consumers are waiting to see what the company has to offer with its upcoming all-electric SUV models.
The Li Auto i6 is planned to launch in September this year with both an all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive variants, the first vehicle model with a RWD option.
The rear-wheel drive version is equipped with an electric motor boasting a maximum power of 250kW, while the all-wheel drive version adds a 150kW front motor.

The declaration information shows the new car's length, width, and height are 4,950/1,935/1,655mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 3,000mm, positioning it as a mid-to-large SUV.
For comparison, its extended-range sibling, the Li Auto L6, measures 4,925/1,960/1,735mm (L/W/H), with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm, making the all-electric i6 slightly longer and taller. And given the longer wheelbase by 80mm, the rear passengers should have ample legroom.

Meanwhile, the Xiaomi YU7 and Tesla Model Y measure 4,999/1,996/1,600/3,000mm (L/W/H/wheelbase) and 4,790/1,978/1,624/2,890mm, respectively.
For tires, the I6 offers two options: 255/50 R20 and 265/45 R21. All variants are equipped with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs.

The i6 follows the same design language as the i8, including the closed grille, continuous daytime running light strip in front of the windshield, and high/low beam headlights on either side of the grille.

The lower bumper features a three-section design, with air ducts below the headlight clusters to improve aerodynamic performance. The bottom is equipped with a rectangular air intake, decorated with horizontal slats.

From the profile, the roof line reminds us of a fastback SUV and the two-tone design creates a “floating roof” effect.
While the front fascia draws many similarity with the Li Auto MEGA, from the profile and the rear, we can see that the company opted for a more traditional SUV rear design.

The top of the trunk features a small spoiler and a high-mounted brake light. The taillight cluster adopts another through-type design, quite similar to the one on the NIO ES6.
The Li Auto i6 is a pretty exciting model for the company as it has the potential to threaten the Tesla Model Y’s dominance in the Chinese EV market.
While many “Tesla-killer” models like the Onvo L60, Zeekr 7x, and Luxeed R7 have evidently missed the mark (in terms of sales volume), the Li Auto i6 and Xiaomi YU7 are promising SUVs as of late.
