Li Auto To End 2024 With 500,000 Deliveries? No.1 for 34th Consecutive Week

On December 17, Li Auto delivered its weekly sales ranking chart for the 50th week of 2024 (Dec. 9-15).

W50 results show that Li Auto is once again topping the emerging NEV brand chart with c. 14,100 vehicles delivered through the week.

Li Auto has indisputably dominated the EREV segment since it first unveiled the Li One in April 2019.

Founder, Chairman, and CEO Li Xiang has spearheaded that growth and continues on the strong momentum of 2023.

As of November 2024 YTD, Li Auto has delivered over 442,000 vehicles, a 17.5% growth over the total sales of 2023.

While Li Auto has had two consecutive month of sales decline in October and November, weekly delivery figures imply that December will be potentially a record-month.

Through Dec. 2-15, Li Auto has already delivered over 26,700 vehicles and will have a chance to break past the 500,000 total annual sales mark.

2024 was a year of continuous calibration for the company, previously aiming to deliver 650,000 to 800,000 vehicles for the year.

Li Xiang and his team later downgraded that target to 560,000 to 640,000 units due to weaker sales coming from its first fully electric MPV, the MEGA.

While Li Auto will in all likelihood miss its annual sales target, the company remains atop of competition despite the intense competition with new EREVs launching every other week.

Among those are EREVs from brands such as AITO, Leapmotor, Deepal, and soon XPeng,

Li Auto is ending the year strong, with a third consecutive week-on-week sales growth; W50 sales grew by 14.1% from W49.

This also represents the 34th consecutive week that Li Auto tops the emerging list. Note that this ranking does not include Tesla, which delivered c, 18,500 vehicles.

Li Auto L6 Weekly Sales

Li Auto’s success is predominantly driven by the Li Auto L6, which was launched on April 18 and deliveries began on April 24.

Since its debut, Li Auto has consistently been able to deliver at a 6,000 weekly run-rate. Li Auto’s 6,760 L6 deliveries through W50 is the second-best week behind W39 (Sep. 23-29).

Leapmotor stands in second with c. 10,000 vehicles sold in W50, followed by Changan’s Deepal with 7,700 units.

Much of Deepal’s success can be attributed to the Deepal S05, launched on October 20.

Within 10 days from debut, Deepal had accumulated 10,000 pre-orders and completed its first 10,000 deliveries by the 40th day of delivery.

XPeng ranked fourth with 7,200 units delivered. He Xiaopeng recently revealed that the new Mona M03’s sales have stabilized at approximately 4,000 units a week.

Amongst the luxury segment of all vehicle brands in China, Li Auto ranked 5th, behind Tesla, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi.

BYD remains dominant in the NEV ranking chart, topping the list with c. 97,800 deliveries in W50, followed by Wuling with 21,800 units.
