On November 5, 2025, Mercedes-Benz has introduced the pure electric CLA sedan in China, priced between 249,000 and 285,600 CNY (approximately 34,900 to 40,100 USD).

A limited 299,900 CNY (approximately 42,100 USD) variant will be produced in 100 units. The model is manufactured by Beijing Benz and targets the compact electric vehicle segment.

The CLA EV uses an 800V electrical platform and a single rear motor rated at 200 kW. A two-speed electric transmission is used to improve efficiency at highway speeds.

The 89 kWh battery provides a CLTC-rated driving range of 866 km (approximately 538 miles) with an energy consumption of 10.9 kWh per 100 km. Fast-charging can add approximately 370 km (230 miles) of range in 10 minutes.

Driver assistance functions include highway navigation, parking support, and reverse path assistance. The higher trim adds city navigation driving capability.

The model is based on the Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture and features a long-wheelbase design. The wheelbase was lengthened by 40 mm to 2,830 mm to address rear seating space requirements in the China market. The vehicle competes in the same segment as the Tesla Model 3, Xiaomi SU7, and NIO ET5.

The CLA features a closed front grille with star-pattern surface detailing and a full-width LED light bar. Taillights also use a full-width design with a small rear spoiler.

The sedan measures 4,763 mm in length, 1,836 mm in width, and 1,471 mm in height. Exterior colors include Obsidian Black, Water Moon Silver, Lava Red, Pine Mist Blue, and Arctic White. Hidden door handles and 18-inch wheels are standard.

Inside, the CLA features a three-screen layout including a 10.25-inch instrument screen and a 14-inch central screen, with an optional 14-inch passenger display.

The MB.OS operating system runs on a Snapdragon 8295 chip. Voice interaction is supported through a large-model assistant with multi-zone voice command capability. A panoramic roof, ambient lighting, and an optional 3D audio system are available.

The vehicle includes 11 airbags, high-voltage automatic cutoff, and battery thermal control, and meets China’s 2026 EV safety standards.
