Xiaomi Auto has recorded close to 100,000 pre-orders for the new-generation Xiaomi SU7 less than three weeks after pre-sales opened on January 7, 2026, despite a price increase of CNY 14,000 (c. $2,000) compared with the outgoing model. The vehicle is scheduled to officially enter the market in April 2026.

The SU7 remains Xiaomi Auto’s core battery electric sedan and continues to be offered in three variants—Standard, Pro, and Max. Pre-sale prices are set at CNY 229,900, CNY 259,900, and CNY 309,900, respectively, equivalent to approximately $33,000, $37,300, and $44,500. The entry-level version is priced CNY 14,000 higher than the current model, while the Max version carries a CNY 10,000 increase.

Xiaomi Auto, a subsidiary of Xiaomi Corp., has expanded its retail footprint to 477 stores nationwide. Based on order intake reported by sales staff, aggregate pre-orders since January 7 are approaching 100,000 units.
In Beijing, a flagship store in a major commercial district reported more than 400 confirmed orders. Stores in Shanghai and Wuhan each exceeded 100 orders, with sales staff in some Shanghai locations holding more than 10 orders per person.

The company has sought to avoid delivery bottlenecks experienced during the launch of the Xiaomi YU7 by opening pre-orders well ahead of production. Sales representatives said the early deposit-based ordering system is being used to forecast demand, secure key components, and allocate production capacity in advance. Xiaomi Auto has also adjusted factory scheduling, prioritized new-generation SU7 output, and begun clearing inventory of the current SU7 to support the transition.
Xiaomi Auto has attributed the price increase to broad configuration upgrades across safety, range, performance, and intelligent driving systems. All variants now use 2,200 MPa ultra-high-strength steel in an embedded roll-cage structure and door anti-collision beams, compared with 2,000 MPa steel previously. Nine airbags are standard across the lineup, including two rear side airbags added for the new generation.

All variants are positioned as long-range models. The Standard and Pro versions adopt a 752V silicon carbide high-voltage platform. The Pro version delivers a CLTC-rated range of 902 km, or about 560 miles. The Max version uses an 897V silicon carbide platform and can add up to 670 km (416 miles) of CLTC range in 15 minutes of charging.

Powertrain and chassis upgrades have been standardized. Every version now uses Xiaomi’s V6s Plus electric motor, replacing the earlier V6 and V6S motors. A closed dual-chamber air suspension system is also standard, beginning with the Pro variant.
Advanced driver assistance hardware is no longer tiered by trim level. All new-generation SU7 models are equipped with lidar, 4D millimeter-wave radar, an Nvidia Thor chip delivering 700 TOPS of computing power, and Xiaomi’s HAD end-to-end assisted driving system.

The previous standard version offered 84 TOPS of computing power and did not include lidar.
The previous-generation Xiaomi SU7 began deliveries on April 3, 2024, and has recorded nearly 400,000 cumulative sales.
Xiaomi Auto sold about 410,000 vehicles last year and has set a target of 550,000 deliveries this year. The new-generation SU7 is expected to serve as the brand’s primary volume model.
Xiaomi has also disclosed a five-year research and development investment plan totaling CNY 200 billion (c. $28.7 billion), positioning the SU7 as a key product within its long-term electric vehicle strategy. Whether Xiaomi can translate early demand into sustained production stability remains the next test.
