New photos without camouflage of NIO’s third brand Firefly's first model, also called Firefly, have surfaced ahead of its scheduled sales launch in April 2025.
The new vehicle, which has already started pre-sales on December 21, 2024, is priced at 148,800 CNY (20,550 USD) and is positioned as a compact car benchmarking the MINI Cooper EV and Smart #1 in China.

However, considering the pre-sale price, 148,800 CNY is relatively expensive, especially considering the competitive models that have come out of China recently.
For example, XPeng launched facelifts of the fastback SUV G6 for 176,800 CNY, 23,100 CNY lower than the 2024 edition.
The competition among legacy and new automakers is exceptionally fierce and the Firefly will face significant price pressure after its launch.

The Firefly measures 4,003 mm in length, 1,781 mm in width, and 1,557 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,615 mm.
The Firefly will still be larger than the much anticipated Volkswagen ID.Every1, which will measure 3,880 mm in length, 1,816 mm in width, 1,490 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,539 mm.

In terms of power, the new vehicle is equipped with a 105 kW motor, making it a powerful little "pocket rocket." It is powered by a 2.1 kWh battery pack, offering a CLTC pure electric range of 420 kilometers.
In terms of appearance, the Firefly adopts a design similar to Honda's compact SUVs, but it features three sets of headlights compared to Honda's single set, creating a distinct difference in detail.

The side profile of the Firefly is also quite unique. Its C-pillar is prominent, featuring a forward-leaning design and a sloping roofline.
The A-pillar is designed in a hidden style, making the C-pillar resemble a handle or the roll bar of a convertible.
The middle section of the side profile features a sleek body design with hidden door handles, black cladding at the bottom, and a very sharp wheel design.

The rear design of the Firefly is complex, echoing the design language of the front face. The rear windshield slopes significantly, and there is a sporty spoiler at the top.
