SAIC Motor's MG brand released early images of the Cyber X, a purposefully unconventional electric SUV that breaks from the brand's conventional design language.
The angular yet softened "boxy" model will be unveiled at the upcoming Shanghai motor show. The new car bearing the “Cyber” sub-brand represents MG's strategic focus toward a younger audience with eye-catching designs.

The Cyber X's geometric silhouette combines sharp angles with rounded edges, avoiding traditional rugged off-road SUV looks while maintaining urban appeal.

The SUV will also feature cell-to-body (CTB) battery integration, the all-new Zebra 3.0 operating system and digital user interface, Horizon Robotics’ J6 chip, and OPPO’s phone-car connectivity system.
In addition to the Cyber X, MG has also revealed its intention to launch 8 new models over the next 2 years, including sports cars, sedans and SUVs.
Brand chief Zhou Xing confirmed two other 2025 launches: a compact electric sedan and a large five-seat NEV SUV.

The MG Cyber X’ success may hinge on balancing the novelty of its "boxy" aesthetic with the practical demands of young urban buyers—a demographic increasingly dictating China's NEV trends.
With MG's established export channels, the model could later serve as a design-forward entry point in European markets where the brand maintains strong recognition.
