New XPeng G6/G9 are priced to make you "feel like losing out if you don't buy"

On the evening of March 13 in China, XPeng launched the 2025 versions of the XPeng G6 and G9 and started accepting pre-orders.

The G6 will start at 176,800 CNY, 23,100 CNY cheaper than the previous model and the G9 will command a price of 248,800 CNY to 278,800 CNY, 15,100 CNY lower for the base model and 81,100 CNY decrease for the top trim.

The aggressive pricing proved to be a rapid success, with the G6 amassing 5,000 pre-orders in just 7 minutes from launch and G9 reaching 3,000 pre-orders under 45 minutes.

During the interview session after the launch XPeng G6/G9 event, Chairman He Xiaopeng explained the pricing of the XPeng G6 and G9 facelifts, as well as the status of the future price war in the automotive industry.

He Xiaopeng stated that the "pricing is so aggressive that it almost doesn't justify a launch event", making the price the main attraction instead of the fanfare of the event itself. XPeng aims to achieve such an impression with potential buyers.
