The second-generation BMW iX3 is set to redefine the company’s approach to electric mobility, integrating cutting-edge technology and an entirely new design philosophy rooted in the Neue Klasse platform.

Recently, spy photos captured the 2026 iX3 during testing at Nürburgring, showcasing what appears to be the production-ready version with final headlights and taillights.

BMW has confirmed that the new iX3 will make its official global debut at the Munich Auto Show in September 2025.

This model adopts BMW’s next-generation Neue Klasse design language, distinguishing itself from its predecessor with a refreshed aesthetic.

Compared to the outgoing model, the most noticeable change is the shift to a horizontal grille, replacing BMW’s traditional vertical kidney design.

Beyond its structural refinements, the 2026 iX3 brings a significant advancement in electric vehicle battery technology. It will incorporate BMW’s sixth-generation cylindrical battery cells, an innovation that increases energy density by 20 percent.

The system is supported by an 800V high-voltage electrical platform, drastically reducing charging times and making long-distance travel more convenient.

Production for the 2026 iX3 is expected to begin in the United States in late 2026, setting the stage for its American market debut as a 2027 model.
