On May 1, NIO announced that the company has delivered 23,900 new energy vehicles in April 2025, a 53% year-on-year and 58.9% month-on-month improvement in sales.

April also marks the first month that the NIO Group is selling three different brands. In fact, of the 23,900 units delivered, there were 19,269 NIO, 4,400 Onvo (L60), and 231 Firefly.

This month also represents the second best single-month delivery figure since NIO’s inception, behind the 31,138 EVs the company delivered last December.
NIO had delivered over 20,000 units through May to December in 2024, before falling below that level during the first quarter of 2025, typically a weaker sales period in the auto industry paired with the timing of Chinese New Year.

However, NIO’s strong recovery in April can be largely attributed to its recent sales push with aggressive purchase incentives, such as 5-year 0-interest financing on NIO and Onvo vehicles.
These incentives were eligible until April 30 to phase out old models as the company plans to roll out the 2025 version NIO ES6/EC6 in May and the NIO ET5/ET5T in June.

Their official debut should be imminent as many spy photos surfaced on Chinese social media of the NT2.5 NIO 5566 vehicles, including most recently the ET5 without camouflage.

Last year, NIO had announced an ambitious sales target for 2025, aiming to double 2024 sales from 221,970 to 440,000 units, driven by the launch of 9 vehicles across 3 brands.
