NIO Firefly launches China's first credit-driven car subscription model

Users with a Sesame Credit score of 800+ can directly unlock a 7-day deep experience of the 2025 Firefly model, enjoying full owner-level privileges without high costs.

The program eliminates standard entry barriers such as deposits, handling of insurance, and vehicle-care fees. Eligible users can book through Alipay and receive owner-level rights for the full seven-day period.

Booking opened on November 21, and quota releases begin on November 24 at 10:00 across Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Guangzhou. The companies expect about 200 users to participate in the first month.

Participants can evaluate the Firefly model’s space layout, in-car software, and driving characteristics. The trial also includes access to NIO House services and provides each user with a dedicated subscription concierge covering vehicle pickup, return, and post-use requirements.

Sesame Credit integrated several protective measures into the program, including deposit-free access, liability coverage, third-party insurance, and free pickup and drop-off services. These factors reduce the operational and financial overhead of short-term usage for high-credit users and simplify the evaluation period.

Following the trial, participants can choose to adopt monthly subscriptions, purchase the Firefly model, or switch to another available vehicle.

Sesame Credit noted that the 800-point threshold already applies to housing rentals without deposits and delayed medical payments, among other consumer-service categories.

Sesame Credit operates within the Alipay ecosystem and is broadly used as a commercial scoring indicator.

SUPEREV said the partnership will expand to additional cities and may broaden the range of available vehicle models as operations scale. Sesame Credit plans to extend its credit-based entry into more consumer-service scenarios.
