Recently, CATL joined the battery swap market, which NIO sees as a win-win, showcasing the convenience and elimination of battery anxiety that swapping offers.

Since the launch of its first battery swap station on May 20, 2018, NIO Power has been accelerating its station deployment.

It took 1,508 days to reach 1,000 stations, 477 days to reach 2,000 stations, and just 434 days to reach 3,000 stations.

NIO's battery swap stations now span from Jiamusi in Heilongjiang to Sanya in Hainan, from Karamay in Xinjiang to Qiqihar in Heilongjiang.

In December, NIO completed a 9-vertical and 9-horizontal highway battery swap network, covering 12 major urban clusters and connecting over 700 cities.

This network ensures that NIO users can travel between major cities with ease, with a battery swap station approximately every 200 kilometers on highways.

In August 2024, NIO Power launched the "County-to-County Charging Plan," further accelerating the construction of its charging and swapping network.

By December 2024, NIO had achieved full coverage in Jiangsu, with battery swap stations in all 95 counties and county-level administrative regions.

For context, China is divided into several administrative divisions, with provinces being the largest.

Each province is further divided into prefecture-level cities, which are then divided into counties or county-level cities.

This hierarchical structure ensures that even smaller regions have access to essential services like NIO's battery swap stations.
