NIO Needs To Deliver Over 19,000 Cars Over Next 2 Weeks To Meet Lower Guidance

During a recent year-end interview with media members, Founder and CEO William Li announced that the company expects to deliver 440,000 cars next year, a major leap year.

In fact, as of November 2024 YTD, NIO has only delivered 190,832 vehicles, 10,233 of which are from the new sub-brand Onvo.

In 2025, the company expects to deliver 200,000 Onvo as it anticipates to launch two more Onvo-branded SUVs.

William also expects the main brand NIO to sell 240,000 vehicles as it transitions from NT2.0 platform to NT3.0, starting with the debut of the NIO ET9.

NIO also announced earlier the Q4 guidance to be between 72,000 to 75,000 unit sales.

Based on the cumulative October and November sales of 41,551 units, December sales are implied to be between 30,449 to 33,449.

Reaching the lower guidance with 30,449 deliveries would imply a massive 48.0% month-on-month jump in deliveries.

Though NIO has yet achieve a single month above the 30,000 mark, William Li has once again reiterated his confidence in achieving that goal.

He further explained that through December 1-11, the company has received the highest number of locked-in orders in the past 6 months.

Onvo President Alan Ai is also confident to deliver over 10,000 L60 in December.

However, through the 49th (Dec. 2-8) and 50th (Dec. 9-15) weeks of December, the group has only delivered approximately 8,100 NIO and 3,100 Onvo cars, totaling just over 11,000 units.

Assuming insurance registrations are accurate, NIO and Onvo has to deliver on a group-basis over 19,000 vehicles through the next two weeks to fulfill their lower guidance.
