NIO's Onvo launches 666 Black Knight limited edition L60 fastback SUV at $21,900

Onvo officially launched the L60 Black Knight on December 5, 2025, introducing a limited run of 666 units priced at 211,900 CNY (c. $30,000). Deliveries began the same day across China, with display vehicles arriving in showrooms on December 4. The variant expands the mid-size L60 line, which is central to NIO’s volume strategy as the company aims to reach Q4 profitability.

Onvo delivered 11,794 units in November, an increase of 132.1% year-on-year, while the large L90 has just reached 40,000 deliveries in four months. An L80 will follow in the first half of next year. The release of the Black Knight for both the L60 and L90 models closely resembles Firefly's strategy, featuring limited editions with unique exterior paint designs.

The L60 Black Knight is part of NIO’s broader approach to segmenting its lineup between premium NIO-branded vehicles and the more accessible Onvo line, while keeping both under the NT3.0 technology and service ecosystem. The L60 has delivered more than 80,000 units to date, making it one of the highest-volume mid-size electric SUVs in the market.

The Black Knight edition keeps the L60’s body structure but applies a full black-out package. The exterior features a “Starry Black” body color, blackened logo emblems, and 20-inch blacked-out wheels. The split-light design pairs an upper L-shaped daytime running lamp with a slimmer lower light assembly. Dimensions remain 4,828 mm long, 1,930 mm wide, 1,616 mm tall, and the wheelbase stays at 2,950 mm, offering a five-seat layout.

The pricing aligns with the existing L60 lineup, where standard models begin at 206,900 CNY, or 149,900 CNY under the battery-as-a-service pricing. The Black Knight’s battery-rental option is priced at 154,900 CNY (c. $21,900). Like other Onvo vehicles, the model is compatible with NIO’s national battery-swap network. As of late November, the network included 3,581 swap stations, 4,805 charging stations, and more than 27,000 chargers, supporting over 100,000 daily swaps. However, only 3rd and 4th gen. swap stations are compatible with Onvo cars.

The interior adopts a black theme with orange stitching and orange safety belts. Equipment across sources includes a 17.2-inch central screen, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P cockpit platform, the NT.Coconut system, cabin-wide blue-light-reduction functions, rear-seat ventilation, and a hidden ETC module. Newly added software features include Space Q&A, slippery-surface braking assist for the rear-wheel-drive version, and improvements to the Nomi AI assistant. The L60 also features premium leather seating, wood-grain trim, and a folding table for the right-rear passenger.

Powertrain options mirror the main L60 series. The rear-wheel-drive version produces 240 kW, while the all-wheel-drive version reaches 340 kW and 440 Nm, with 0–100 km/h acceleration of 4.6 seconds. The vehicle uses NIO’s 900V silicon-carbide electric drive system and offers 60 kWh LFP and 85 kWh NCM battery packs. Depending on configuration, CLTC ranges cited include 530 km (329 miles), 560 km (348 miles), 707 km (439 miles), and 740 km (460 miles). Following the Coconut 2.0.5 update in late September, the RWD version can achieve 11.9 kWh/100 km consumption under CLTC conditions.
