Tesla China's VP highlights change behind 51% improved new Model Y ride comfort

Tesla's Global Vice President, Tao Lin, took to social media on February 6 to share key highlights of the new Model Y “Juniper”, on its perfect balance of handling and ride comfort.

According to Tao, while the new Model Y maintains Tesla's driving performance standards, it has also seen significant improvements in comfort.

The Model Y’s enhancement in comfort is made possible with an innovative technology integrated into the SUV’s dampers – a frequency response valve system.

This new technology allows the dampers to absorb vibrations across different frequencies.

Specifically, the basic valve system in the dampers primarily addresses low-frequency vibrations, ensuring vehicle support and handling stability on regular roads.

The newly added frequency response valve system, however, focuses on high-frequency vibrations, effectively smoothing out rough terrains such as gravel roads, reducing vibration by 51% compared to the old Model Y.

Tesla also promises 22% less road noise and 20% less wind noise.

This frequency response valve system ensures that the refreshed Model Y delivers optimal handling performance and comfort across various road conditions.
