The brand emphasized that this is MG's first global model for 2025. Compared to the current old MG4, the new car uses a completely different design language, abandoning the edgy lines for softer and rounded lines.

MG says that the new design borrows some elements from the two-door roadster, MG Cyberster.

According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the MG4 EV measures 4,395/1,842/1,551 mm in length, width, and height with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm.

In other words, it is longer, wider, taller than the old MG4 by all measures as the previous car measured 4,287/1,836/1,516 mm (L/W/H) with a wheelbase of 2,705 mm.

The MG4 EV, which debuted in June 2022, was built on SAIC Group's modular scalable platform (MSP) for electric vehicles.

MG is marketing it as "the first global model of 2025, officially named MG4 EV," differentiating it from the previous MG4 series called Mulan.

MG4 EV will initially be a single-motor, rear-wheel-drive model with a maximum horsepower of 163hp and a 120kW electric motor with a 160 km/h top speed.

The vehicle will use an LFP battery, but the size and brand are still unknown.

The MG4 EV features a primary purple color with a front end that appears noticeably smoother, with L-shaped headlamp clusters on both sides.

It also has a white A-pillar color scheme and a panoramic glass roof. The charging port, originally located at the rear side, has been relocated to the front left fender.

The triangular window design of the front door has been retained, while the body sides now feature two creases instead of the previous decorative panel.

The C-pillar no longer sports a floating design and opts for a more traditional panel paint finish.

At the rear, it adopts through-type taillights and MG’s badge in the center, along with arrow-shaped LED taillights reminiscent of the Cyberster coupe.
