XPeng Motors unveiled the X9 Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) on October 23, 2025, expanding its product line with a large seven-seat MPV equipped for long-distance family travel.

CEO and Chairman He Xiaopeng said the X9 EREV was tested over 20 million km across 20 countries and 330 cities to ensure reliability.

The X9 EREV uses a 1.5 T range-extender producing 110 kW, combined with a 63.3 kWh battery and a 60 L fuel tank. It can achieve a 452 km (281 miles) electric range and a total driving range of 1,602 km (996 miles) under CLTC conditions, with an average fuel consumption of 6.4 L/100 km. The model is built on XPeng’s 800 V high-voltage platform and supports 5C ultra-fast charging.

The exterior largely mirrors the all-electric X9 but adds an active grille, vertical air intakes, and a new “Aurora Green” paint option.

The MPV measures 5,316 mm long, 1,988 mm wide and 1,785 mm high (209.3 × 78.3 × 70.3 inches), with a 3,160 mm (124.4 inches) wheelbase.

The side profile showcases a floating roof created by concealed pillars and flared arches with 20-inch multi-spoke wheels.
At the rear, the X9 adopts a borderless window and a through-type taillight integrating an illuminated XPeng logo.

The cabin features Ayous wood accents, ambient starlight dome lighting, dual wireless chargers and a refrigerated console.
Second-row captain chairs provide heating, ventilation and massage functions within a 2 + 2 + 3 layout.

The chassis uses front double-wishbone and rear multi-link independent suspensions with dual-chamber air springs and adaptive damping. Rear-wheel steering allows a 5.4 m (17.7 ft) turning radius.

The X9 is the first of many XPeng vehicles that will offer pure-electric and range-extended variants for markets with differing infrastructure readiness.

The model is expected to be priced between 400,000 and 450,000 CNY (c. $56,200 – $63,200) and will compete in China’s high-end MPV segment alongside the Li Auto L9 and Zeekr 009.

XPeng plans to expand its Kunpeng Super Electric platform internationally by late 2026.
