The FAW Toyota bZ5 is set to officially launch on June 10. This China-exclusive EV model began pre-sales in May 2025, offering two configurations priced between 130.000 to 160.000 RMB (c. 18.100 to 23.300 USD), with the more expensive trim coming with Momenta 5.0 urban assisted driving system.

The FAW Toyota bZ5 continues Toyota's family design language with front fascia featuring a closed grille, paired with a star-ring light strip and boomerang-style lamp clusters. Combined with the brand logo, it creates a highly recognizable Toyota style.

The side profile of the FAW Toyota bZ5 adopts a coupe SUV styling with a fastback rear and the sharp side lines create a distinct look under light and shadow.

In terms of dimensions, the new car measures 4.780mm in length, 1.866mm in width, and 1.510mm in height, with a long wheelbase of 2.880mm. The rear features an integrated taillight strip design, echoing the front design.

Stepping inside, the FAW Toyota bZ5's interior design offers a simple and elegant layout with a narrow-strip LCD instrument panel and a 15.6-inch central control screen, catering to the the young Chinese car buyers.

The vehicle is equipped with a 1.44 square meter panoramic sunroof, featuring Low-E coating + Ag₂ coated glass, capable of achieving 99.98% UV isolation and 99.3% infrared isolation.

Additionally, the cabin houses 10 JBL speakers with dual subwoofers placed in front of the central armrest. The bZ5 also introduces an in-car fragrance system that allows users to choose from three scents (Snow Mountain Cloud, Scarlet Whisper, Orange Glow Haze) and offers a dynamic 256-color ambient lighting.

The top trim of the FAW Toyota bZ5 model will feature the new Toyota Pilot intelligent driving assistance system, jointly developed by the Momenta 5.0 urban assisted driving system and TSS. This system offers over 30 functions, including urban and highway navigation assisted driving and parking assistance.

The bZ5 is expected to adopt a single-motor drive with a peak power output of 200kW and will be powered by BYD FinDreams Battery's lithium iron phosphate batteries, offering two range options: 550km and 630km in CLTC.

As a pure electric mid-size SUV, the FAW Toyota bZ5 is positioned to compete with models such as the Leapmotor C10, Changan Qiyuan Q07, BYD Sea Lion 07 EV, and Arcfox Alpha T5.

With a pre-sale price of 130.000-160.000 RMB, the official launch price is also expected to be lower. Combined with the Momenta 5.0 assisted driving system, the bZ5 should be very competitive even in the Chinese market.
