GAC-Toyota announced that it has delivered a total of 60,038 vehicles in April 2025, a 14.9% year-on-year growth from 52,251 units.
Toyota has accelerated its electrification strategy in China, launching its third fully electric SUV under the bZ line, the bZ3X on March 7.

The bZ3X was well received in China, surprising many with its competitive launch price of 104,800 to 154,800 RMB, well below the starting prices of its first two bZ models at 169,800 RMB for the bZ3 and 179,800 RMB for the bZ4X.
In fact, within the first launch hour, Toyota had received over 10,000 pre-orders.

Many of these orders evidently converted as the Toyota bZ3X has already reached 10,000 cumulative deliveries since starting on March 16.

Foreign brands operating through joint-ventures in China have garnered a reputation for being slow to market, falling behind emerging domestic NEV brands from innovation and value standpoints.

Just two years ago, GAC-Toyota delivered approximately 80,000 Toyota vehicles monthly. That average has gradually declined to less than 65,000 units monthly.
However, Toyota seems to be reversing the tide in China with much more competitive EVs like the bZ3X.

Toyota’s second JV with FAW also improved from last year with 65,024 deliveries, a 32% year-on-year increase. Of those, 54% or 34,794 units were new energy vehicles.
During the first quarter, FAW-Toyota had exceeded 172,000 deliveries, a 9.6% YoY growth.
