XPeng plans to begin mass production in the second half of 2025 of its first extended-range (EREV) SUV, the G01, with a public debut expected in the fourth quarter of 2025 and retail deliveries by early 2026.

The G01 will be a three-row, six-seat SUV measuring 5.1 meters in length, targeting family buyers and long-distance travelers. The G01 will be the company’s second EREV, after the launch of the extended-range X9 MPV in November 2025.

Built on XPeng’s new “G-platform,” the G01 uses the Kunpeng Super Electric System — a silicon-carbide 800-volt architecture co-developed with Harbin Dongan Auto Engine Co.

It is equipped for up to 430 km of pure-electric range (CLTC), plus a total driving range up to 1,400 km thanks to its range-extender system.

Fast charging capabilities support an 800 V 5C battery pack that can recharge from 10 % to 80 % in about 12 minutes.

XPeng first indicated in 2024 that the hybrid model would target the CNY 200,000-plus price band, though some later reports placed the potential retail price nearer CNY 300,000. The final official pricing remains unconfirmed.

The vehicle’s 5.1 m length and roughly 3.0 m wheelbase promise generous third-row space and flexible cargo capacity — reportedly enough to fit four 28-inch suitcases plus a stroller. Seating is configured for six.

The SUV’s package aims at long-distance usability, combining electric-driving comfort, hybrid range security, and fast charging convenience.

The G01 represents XPeng’s continued shift from its previous focus on battery-electric vehicles toward a dual-powertrain strategy. Several major emerging NEV brands like IM, AITO, and ZEEKR have followed this approach as well following the success of Li Auto’s EREV models.
