XPeng tops weekly sales for 2nd consecutive time; expects profitability in 2025

From January 20 to February 2, 2025, XPeng topped the emerging NEV brand chart for the 2nd consecutive time with 11,100 deliveries, ranking ahead of Li Auto that delivered 11,000 vehicles.

Xiaomi placed 4th delivered with 8,500 deliveries of the SU7 while ZEEKR and NIO ranked 7th and 10th with 4,500 and 3,300 units delivered, respectively.

Through that same period, Tesla delivered 13,400 vehicles, bested only by BYD with 68,100 units delivered.

In January, XPeng also delivered 30,350 units, breaking Li Auto’s 24-months streak as the monthly sales leader amongst emerging NEV brands (excluding Tesla).

Notably, XPeng’s new affordable sedan model, the MONA M03, sold over 15,000 units last month, while the P7+ topped 10,000 units.

January was also the third consecutive month that XPeng breaks the 30,000 deliveries mark.

In an interview with LatePost, chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng expects breakeven for a single quarter to happen sometime in 2025.

He further highlighted the importance of personally managing the supply chain as a CEO, sharing that he has been deceived by people working in procurement in the past.

He Xiaopeng even told NIO CEO William Li that “he has to personally manage the supply chain and to understand it.”.

Competition in China is heating up as Chinese New Year ended, with several rounds of purchase incentives released.

On February 4, Tesla China announced an 8,000 CNY insurance subsidy for the entire Model 3 lineup, available alongside its 5-year interest-free financing option.

Just 2 hours later, XPeng retaliated with its own purchase incentive, offering an industry-first 5-year zer-interest financing and zero down payment.
