On May 15, 2025, Xpeng Motors Chairman He Xiaopeng announced that the Xpeng P7 facelift is coming soon. He described it as China's first major redesign from a new-generation car manufacturer.

The poster he shared reads “XPeng P7, a name that once stirred passion in the history of China’s new energy vehicles. This is not a concept car. We’ve simply brought it from the future into the present”

XPeng also unveiled official images of the new P7's exterior, positioning it as a high-tech, stylish, luxury coupe.

The company stated that after five years of refinement, they continue to deliver original design.

He Xiaopeng also noted that the new P7 is one of the company's most emotionally invested projects, with Chinese and international design teams using extraordinary creativity and an original, stylish aesthetic to break away from repetitive designs.

XPeng designer Rafik Ferrag previously teased the new coupe on Instagram, revealing its sportier silhouette.

Rafik’s post read “How time flies. It was back in 2018, after joining XPENG, I designed my first car for the brand: the XPENG P7.

Witnessing its tremendous success and profound impact, not only for XPENG but also on the global NEV market, I was filled with immense pride!

When designing the P7, I meticulously shaped every curve and every detail. Even now, whenever I see it on China’s streets, it’s more than just a car to me, it feels like an extension of myself.

Being part of this project was both a deeply personal challenge and a defining milestone.

Now, six years later, I’m honored to introduce the latest XPENG model I’ve had the privilege to design.

Compared to previous models, the new P7 features a more dynamic design, with front and rear styling similar to the 2024 P7+. It also includes a rear spoiler to enhance aerodynamic performance.
