On March 19, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) revealed application pictures of Cadillac's high-performance version of the LYRIQ series, LYRIQ-V.
The Cadillac LYRIQ-V is already on sale in the U.S. with a starting price of $78,595, or roughly 570,000 RMB.

Built on the GM Ultium platform, the LYRIQ-V features a powerful dual-motor system with a combined output of 443 kW.
Cadillac had already announced on March 3 that it will launch the LYRIQ-V in China in 2025 after making its debut at the Cadillac Vday performance show on March 1 at the Zhejiang International Circuit.

The LYRIQ-V is equipped with a dual-motor system, where the front motor delivers a peak power of 183 kW and the rear motor provides a peak power of 260 kW.
The Cadillac is powered by a ternary lithium-ion battery supplied by SAIC’s battery division. Note that Cadillac operates in China through a joint venture with SAIC, known as SAIC-GM.
In September of last year, SAIC-GM and CATL had jointly held an official launch in Shanghai of an ultra-fast charging LFP battery cell capable of 6C charging, which at the time, made it the fastest charging battery pack in the auto industry.

That charging speed has now been eclipsed by BYD’s “Super e-Platform” and its flash-charging batteries capable of 10C charging.
While the Cadillac LYRIQ-V is equipped with ternary lithium ion batteries, which is different than the LFP battery co-developed with CATL, we can expect some form of improvements in charging speed and range compared to the U.S. version.
For reference, the U.S. version of the LYRIQ-V is equipped with a 102 kWh lithium-ion battery pack enabling 285 miles of range (459 km) based on EPA standards (stricter measurement than CLTC).

The LYRIQ-V measures 5,013 mm in length, 1,977 mm in width, and 1,627 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,094 mm. In other words, the LYRIQ-V is 10 mm longer and taller than the standard Cadillac LYRIQ.
The front bumper is large in size, with a two-section lower air intake complemented by a black mesh grille.
The side profile retains a fastback-style silhouette, while the rear adds three vertical air deflectors.

At the rear, the car features a full-width taillight design and dual quad exhaust outlets.
Cadillac currently sells two pure electric SUVs in the Chinese market, the OPTIQ and LYRIQ.
The OPTIQ is a mid-size SUV offered in two variants, RWD and AWD, priced between 239,700 to 269,700 RMB with a CLTC driving range of 536/600 kilometers.

The LYRIQ 2024 version comes in only with rear-wheel drive and is priced at 297,700 RMB.
The Cadillac EV models have yet gained traction in China as the OPTIQ and LYRIQ sold a total of 2,386 and 1,097 units in 2024, respectively, or less than 3,500 units combined.
