The Li Auto i6 will make its official debut in September. Li Auto has announced that this new model is coming soon, and as its first reveal, there are several highlights that deserve attention.
Last month, Li Auto’s Founder and CEO Li Xiang claimed during the company’s Q2 earnings call that the Li i6 will become the most competitive all-electric 5-seater SUV in China and the company’s sportiest and best driving SUV yet.
The Li Auto i6 is a five-seat midsize SUV designed with a spacious interior. Built on a native electric platform with a 3-meter wheelbase, it offers ample interior space.

The vehicle measures 4.95 meters in length, 1.93 meters in width, and 1.65 meters in height, which makes it both maneuverable for city driving and substantial enough to deliver the presence and comfort expected of an SUV.
The exterior design continues the same direction that the larger Li Auto i8 took, with a curved silhouette and a conventional SUV rear to maximize aerodynamism.

With the Li i8 priced at 339,800 yuan, we expect the i6 to be priced between 230,000 to 300,000 yuan (c, $32,300 to $42,100) , positioned to compete with best-selling midsize SUVs like the Tesla Model Y and Xiaomi YU7.
Another price anchor for the i6 is its extended-range sibling, the Li L6, which is priced between 249,800 to 279,800 yuan (c. $35,100 to $39,300).
The powertrain has been developed in-house with a silicon carbide motor and Li Auto will for the first time offer both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations.

The all-wheel-drive version combines a 150-kilowatt front motor with a 250-kilowatt rear motor, while the rear-wheel-drive version uses a single 250-kilowatt rear motor.
Given that the Li i6 will offer a RWD option, its pricing could possibly be even lower than the Li L6, which is only available in AWD.
The Li i6 will also be equipped with a roof-mounted LiDAR and the NVIDIA Drive Thor centralized car computer chip.

Every trim of the i6 will come standard with Li Auto’s new 5C lithium iron phosphate battery. This advanced 800-volt pack allows the i6 to gain 500 kilometers of driving range in just 10 minutes of charging.
By 2025, Li Auto also plans to expand its charging infrastructure with 4,000 supercharging stations across the country, ensuring that drivers will have convenient access to ultra-fast charging.
The Li Auto i6 is expected to be unveiled to the public in September, with more details to follow as the official launch approaches.
