Li Auto i6 and i8 models will aim to replicate the success of their L series (extended-range EVs), with the i6 making its debut as the most affordable pure electric SUV from the company.

CEO Li Xiang stated, "Our intensive new releases in the latter half of the year are designed to capture sales and build a substantial order backlog for the first quarter of next year."

During the company’s Q4 2024 earnings call, CEO Li Xiang outlined the new car plans and business priorities for this year.

"There will be two pure electric SUVs launching in the latter half of this year," said Li Xiang. "The i8 will be introduced in July, followed by the i6 later in the year. The release schedule will be similar to the L9 and L8 launches in 2022.”

Given the previous 3-month interval between the L9 and L8 releases, the i6 can be anticipated to debut in October.

Li Xiang explained the rationale behind the staggered release schedule: "This strategy allows us to achieve strong sales performance in the second half of the year and accumulate more orders for the following quarter."

The i8 will be a three-row, six-seat SUV, while the i6 will be a large five-seat SUV. The pure electric layout offers significant space savings, with the i8's third row being comparable to the L9, and the i6's second row also providing ample space.

Unlike the first electric vehicle, MEGA, the i8 and i6 are expected to drive significant sales volume for Li Auto's pure electric models.

After the release, the i6 will become Li Auto's most affordable pure electric SUV.

The company will accelerate its EV market expansion this year, with a target of establishing 4,000 supercharging stations by the end of 2025.

Based on the strong sales performance of the Li L6, the i6 pure electric SUV is projected to be Li Auto's biggest hit model this year
