MIIT declaration reveal NIO "ET9" like design changes to ET5/T, ES6, EC6

On February 19, new MIIT declaration pictures revealed subtle exterior design changes to the NIO ET5, ET5T, EC6, and ES6, collectively carrying the "5566” moniker.

According to the Chairman and CEO William Li, the “5566” will align with the ET9 in terms of exterior design and will feature the company’s in-house smart driving chip “Shenji NX9031” and a horizontal central screen.

On February 8, William also revealed during a live interview that the “5566” facelifts will officially launch in May and June of 2025.
Moreover, the company plans to launch facelifts and new models throughout the year starting from April.

In view of the vehicle facelifts, William reassured current and prospective buyers that prices will not be lower than now.
At the moment of this writing, the NIO ET5 and ET5T start at 298,000 CNY (including the battery) and 228,000 CNY with battery rental (BaaS).
Meanwhile, the NIO ES6 and EC6 start at 338,000 CNY and 358,000 CNY, respectively or 268,000 CNY and 288,000 CNY, respectively with BaaS.

Monthly rental payments are 980 CNY for a 75 kWh LFP battery or 1,680 CNY for a 100 kWh ternary cells battery, both supplied by CATL.

NIO will also only complete the facelifts and upgrades to its entire lineup by 2026, which includes eight NIO models (ET5, ET5T, EC6, ES6, EC7, ES7, ES8, and ET9) and one Onvo car (L60).
In 2025, Onvo is expected to launch two vehicles, a large 5-seater SUV (L70) and a mid-to-large 6/7 seater SUV (L80).
In March, NIO will begin deliveries of its much anticipated flagship executive sedan, NIO ET9.
