Based on week 33 (August 11-17) insurance registrations, Onvo has delivered 2,331 units of its flagship six-seater L90 SUV. NIO Group delivered a total of 7,900 electric vehicles, consisting of 2,500 NIO, 3,900 Onvo and 800 Firefly.
That also propelled it to the second best-selling new energy large SUV ranking, led by Huawei-backed AITO M8 with 3,863 units.

More importantly, the Onvo L90 outsold both the extended range Li Auto L8 and L9, which delivered only 588 and 581 units, respectively.
Li Auto used to dominate the large SUV segment with the L8/L9, but has been not only overtaken by AITO M8/M9, but also by more affordable new models such as the Lynk & Co 900 and Leapmotor C16.
Onvo L90 ranking second in the last week’s ranking was no surprise as it had already overtaken all but both AITO M8/M9 on its first delivery week with 1,980 units sold through August 1-3.

On week 32 (August 4-10), Onvo had delivered 2,093 units of its large SUV, which means that roughly 4,000 Onvo L90 had already made it to customers through the first 10 days.
Thus, week 33 results indicate that Onvo has already delivered 6,404 L90 through August 1-17, or through the first 17 days of the month.
Per IT Home, NIO’s Hefei manufacturing plant is operating at full capacity to accelerate delivery.

Onvo will have two more weeks to deliver more than Xiaomi’s 7,058 SU7 first month record, which is all but guaranteed with just 654 to beat it.
Onvo President Shen Fei previously announced to its team that the L90 deliveries must exceed 10,000 units in August, a feat that only the NIO ES6 and Onvo L60 have accomplished, albeit not on their debut month.
In fact, the NIO ES6 holds the record with 11,118 units sold in a month, followed by the Onvo L60 with 10,528 units.
Looking at all previous NIO and its sub-brand car debuts, none have been able to achieve a comparable pace. Onvo L90 not only already delivered more in the first delivery month, but also more than any models after a 3-month ramp-up.
For example, the Onvo L60 delivered 5,082 units on its third month and reached its all-time best with 10,528 by December 2024, which is its fourth month of delivery.

Since Onvo started delivering the new SUV, NIO Group (including NIO, Onvo, Firefly) has delivered on average over 7,000 EVs weekly, which helped it outpace Li Auto through that same period.
NIO Group trailed XPeng by 700 deliveries in week 33, as XPeng continues on a strong momentum as well with 7,900 units delivered, helped by the recent launch of the redesigned P7.
