On September 1, 2025, Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) China lowered the price of its 830 km (c. 515 miles) range Model 3 Long Range Rear-Wheel-Drive (LR RWD) by 10,000 yuan to 259,500 yuan (c. $36,400).

In other words, the LR RWD is now just 24,000 yuan (c. $3,400) more expensive than the base RWD model that starts at 235,500 yuan (c. $33,000), giving buyers an additional 196 km (c. 122 miles) in CLTC driving range.

The price cut comes less than a month after it was launched (August 12), reflecting growing market pressure. At launch, estimated delivery time on Tesla China’s configuration page showed September while existing trims’ estimate (RWD and LR AWD) ranged between 1-3 weeks.

Now, the estimated delivery time is 1-3 weeks, just like the rest of trim options, except for the Performance AWD model that will require 3-5 weeks of waiting time.

In addition to the new price cut, Tesla China offer other incentives including a referral reward program that grants an 8,000 yuan (c. $1,100) paint option credit for orders placed before September 30.

Moreover, orders placed before September 30 will also be eligible for a limited-time five-year zero-interest financing plan, except for the Performance AWD model.

Customers who order eligible model versions by September 30, complete delivery, and purchase partner insurance will receive a limited-time insurance subsidy of 8,000 yuan (c. $1,100). The offer also excludes the Performance AWD version.
