Tesla Model Y L estimated delivery wait time stabilizes to 4–6 weeks in China

Tesla Inc. has shortened delivery waiting times for the Model Y L in China to four to six weeks as of November 9, 2025.

The update marks a return to a precise weekly range estimate at the Shanghai Gigafactory after earlier backlogs back in October pushed Model Y L deliveries to December.

All Model Y variants now share the same 4–6-week delivery window, indicating stable demand across all Tesla Model Y trims.

Launched on August 19, 2025, the Model Y L is a China-exclusive long-wheelbase version with a 60 mm extension and six seats. It is priced from 339,000 CNY (c. $47,600) and sits between the Long Range and Performance models.

Initial orders quickly filled October and November slots, extending delivery times to two months before production normalized.

The Model Y L uses an 82 kWh battery and dual motors for all-wheel drive, offering a CLTC range of 751 km (467 miles) and 0–100 km/h acceleration in 5.0 seconds. Top speed is 250 km/h (155 mph), and DC charging peaks at 250 kW on the V3 Supercharger network.

In China, the Model Y L competes with the Li Auto i8 and the Onvo L90 from NIO. The Li Auto i8 is the battery-electric successor to the L8 range-extended SUV, while the Onvo L90 serves as NIO’s new family-sized flagship. Both models are priced between 300,000 and 400,000 CNY (c. $42,100–$56,200) and target buyers seeking spacious interiors and long range.

The shorter waiting period suggests that Tesla has resolved earlier component constraints and balanced output across its Model Y production lines.

Whether the 4–6-week timeline remains stable into 2026 will depend on order volumes and export allocation from Shanghai.

For now, the Model Y L’s return to standard delivery windows marks a steady phase for Tesla in China’s fast-moving family EV segment.

Conversion rate: 1 USD = 7.122 CNY as of November 9, 2025
