BYD (HKG:1211) has scheduled a launch event for October 10, 2025 in China to debut the 2026 Han Smart-Driving Edition.

This update introduces both DM-i (plug-in hybrid) and EV versions with enhanced electric range, improved ADAS features, and comfort upgrades — all aimed at reinforcing its competitive position in the mid-to-upper EV sedan segment.

The Han line is a key pillar of BYD’s Dynasty series, and this refresh follows prior incremental updates and the introduction of the larger Han L model earlier in 2025.

The 2026 Han is expected to feature BYD’s DiPilot 300 driver assistance system, leveraging a computing platform reportedly built around NVIDIA’s Orin-based architecture with a processing power in the 254 TOPS range.

Sensors may include LiDAR, high-precision radar, and cameras, while its Cloud Chassis C intelligent damping system will dynamically adjust suspension behavior for comfort or stability.

In terms of powertrain and range, the DM-i version is expected to offer a pure electric range of 245 km (c. 152 miles) with a fuel consumption of 3.49 L/100 km in hybrid operation.

The EV version is anticipated to deliver up to 635 km (c. 395 miles) on a single charge using an 800 V high-voltage platform.

Acceleration figures are projected to be competitive, and charging performance is expected to support fast charging — 30 % to 80 % in about 30 minutes — leveraging BYD’s supercharging network.

Additional product details include the adoption of an electronic column shifter replacing the traditional gear lever, and the introduction of an intelligent mini fridge (–6 ℃ to +6 ℃) in the center console.

Luxury touches such as cooled, heated, and massaging front seats, rear-seat recline, and upgraded trim materials are expected.

Top trims may include LiDAR and enhanced assisted driving hardware. Reported pricing will likely continue BYD’s “add features without raising price” strategy.

Hence, the 2026 Han Smart-Driving Edition is expected to be priced in the 160,000–230,000 yuan range (c. $22,700–$32,300).

Incentives such as trade-in subsidies of around 10,000 yuan, financial interest discounts, free pick-up/drop-off and parking services, and lifetime warranty on the battery system may be offered.

Booking deposits and expected delivery windows will likely be confirmed at the launch event.

Conversion rate: 1 USD = 7.1190 CNY as of October 7, 2025
