NIO Inc. delivered 40,397 vehicles in October 2025, surpassing the 40,000-unit mark for the first time and setting a new monthly record for the third consecutive month. The total represented a 92.6% year-on-year increase and a 16.3% rise from September.

The growth was led by the NIO brand’s new ES8 SUV and sustained momentum from the ONVO and Firefly sub-brands. From January to October, NIO delivered 241,618 vehicles, up 41.9% year-on-year, with cumulative deliveries reaching 913,182 units.

By brand, NIO delivered 17,143 vehicles, ONVO 17,342, and Firefly 5,912. The NIO brand posted its highest total since May, ending a five-month streak of year-on-year declines. The third-generation ES8, launched on September 20, reached 10,000 cumulative deliveries within 40 days, the fastest record among all-electric SUVs priced above 400,000 CNY (c. $56,200).

Production of the ES8 is set to increase 70% in November, with monthly capacity projected to reach 15,000 units by December. The 300,000th ES6 rolled off the production line in late October, making it the first Chinese all-electric vehicle priced above 300,000 CNY (c. $42,200) to achieve that production milestone.

The ONVO brand achieved record monthly deliveries of 17,342 vehicles, up 301.5% year-on-year and 13.8% from September. Its L90 SUV, launched in late July, has exceeded 10,000 monthly deliveries for three consecutive months, totaling 33,348 to date.

ONVO surpassed 100,000 cumulative deliveries in 385 days, the second-fastest among Chinese EV startups. The L90 offers six- and seven-seat layouts, and deliveries of the updated L60 began on October 26.

Firefly, NIO’s compact EV brand, posted 5,912 deliveries in October, marking its third consecutive record month. Introduced in late 2024, Firefly competes in the high-end compact EV segment. Its “Night Creature” limited edition, capped at 666 units, contributed to October’s results. The brand’s cumulative deliveries reached 26,242 units by the end of the month.

NIO’s Power Swap network exceeded 90 million total battery swaps in October, averaging one swap every 0.86 seconds, with over 100,000 swaps performed daily. The company expects to reach 100 million cumulative swaps in the coming weeks.

Weekly sales topped 10,000 units for two consecutive weeks in late October, driven by strong demand for the ES8, ONVO L90, and Firefly. NIO management aims to increase ES8 production capacity to deliver over 15,000 units in December.

As of October 31, NIO had delivered 913,182 vehicles in total—779,319 from the NIO brand, 107,621 from ONVO, and 26,242 from Firefly. NIO is now among China’s top five new-energy vehicle makers by monthly sales and expects continued output growth through the fourth quarter.
