On September 4, a reporter from Shanghai Securities News saw that the first batch of new Tesla Model Y L and 830-km Model 3 Long Range RWD were shipped from Tesla’s Shanghai Gigafactory in Lingang to the Shanghai Minhang Delivery Center.
The Lingang Shanghai Gigafactory is located in the industrial zone in southeastern Shanghai near the coast and has previously been manufacturing the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y for both domestic and global markets. The all-new six-seater Model Y L will also be produced out of Lingang.

The cars were delivered to Minhang Delivery Center, one of Tesla China’s largest delivery centers based in the Minhang District of Shanghai with nearly 12,000 square meters and 101 parking spaces designated for delivery.
The new six-seater Tesla Model Y L is priced from 339,000 yuan (c. $47,500) and was officially launched on August 19.
On September 3, local press sourced a Tesla Beijing salesperson, claiming that Tesla has already received over 120,000 pre-orders since debut, averaging almost 10,000 units per day with deliveries under way.

Tesla had also launched on August 12 the longest all-electric range EV of its history with the 830-km Model 3 Long Range RWD and a Performance AWD version.
The 830-km model started at 269,500 yuan (c. $37,800) while the Performance version was priced at 339,500 yuan (c. $47,600). Meanwhile, the base RWD Model 3 currently starts at 235,500 yuan (c. $33,000).

All eyes are now on Tesla after launching several new variants of the Model Y and 3 consecutively. Based on Tesla China’s configuration page, the Model Y L will be delivered in October 2025, while both Model Y RWD and LR AWD will take 1-3 weeks.
All Model 3 variants will also require 1-3 weeks of wait times, except for the new Performance model that will take 3-5 weeks.
