Tesla China delivers nearly 10,000 Model Y "Juniper" on 3rd week of delivery

Through the 11th week of 2025, from March 10 to 16, Tesla delivered a total of 15,300 electric vehicles in China, including 9,500 units of the refreshed Model Y “Juniper”.
This is also the 3rd ramp up week since start of delivery of the new model Y on February 26.

Delivery of the new Model Y have ramped up from 6,700 units in week 9 to 8,700 units in week 10.
Total deliveries, which include Model Y and 3, grew by 10.9% in week 11, while the Model Y ramped up bt 9.2% WoW.

To put things in perspective, the last time Tesla has delivered more Model Y in a week was on the last week of December 2024, during which 15,100 Model Y (previous version) were registered.
Moreover, Tesla only delivered a total of 8,006 Model Y during the entire month of February as Shanghai Giga retooled for mass production of the new car.

The refreshed Model Y is constantly scrutinized as Chinese media 36Kr received information from Tesla Beijing sales staff that the new model has already accumulated 200,000 pre-orders nationwide.
Despite the order backlog, many are refundable. According to Tesla China’s website, the estimated delivery period of the new Model Y is between 2-4 weeks.

On March 13, 36Kr learned that Tesla’s China team is developing a “stripped-down” low cost version of the SUV in order to respond to fierce market competition.
Yesterday, Tesla China announced on Chinese social media Weibo that it has hiked the price of the Model Y Long Range version by 10,000 RMB. now starting at 313,500 RMB (c. 43,300 USD).
