In December 2025, the M9 recorded 9,222 insurance registrations, ranking first among vehicles priced above CNY 500,000 (c. $72,400). During the same month, the BMW X5 recorded 8,675 units, placing it behind the M9 in China’s large luxury SUV segment.
The M9 operates in the upper tier of China’s domestic market, where locally branded vehicles historically struggled to exceed the CNY 300,000 price band. AITO’s portfolio carries an average transaction price of about CNY 400,000 (c. $57,900). The M9 concentrates its volume above CNY 500,000 (c. $72,400), and executives have stated that since launch, seven out of every 10 vehicles sold in that band were M9 units.
