Huawei-Seres’ AITO brand has secured over 100,000 pre-orders for its upcoming M8 SUV, according to Richard Yu, Huawei's Executive Director and Chairman of the Consumer BG.
The model, positioned as a "family smart flagship," is set to hit the market this month with a starting pre-sale price of 368,000 CNY.

The M8 fills a crucial gap in AITO's lineup, slotting between the M7 and flagship M9. With dimensions of 5,190 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,795 mm in height, plus a 3,105 mm wheelbase, it offers both five- and six-seat configurations tailored for family use.
The M8 inherits key technologies from its larger sibling, the M9, including advanced driver-assistance systems, Huawei's HarmonyOS smart cockpit, and million-pixel projection headlights.

Power comes from a 1.5T range-extender system shared with the M9, paired with dual electric motors producing 165 kW (front) and 227 kW (rear).
Buyers can choose between 51.975 kWh and 36.019 kWh battery options, with the larger pack enabling a claimed combined range of 1,526 km.
The strong pre-order performance underscores growing demand for premium intelligent EVs in China, particularly in the competitive 300,000-400,000 CNY segment where AITO continues to leverage Huawei's technological ecosystem.

AITO will aim to ride on the success of the larger SUV sibling AITO M9, which has been one of the greatest success of any Chinese NEVs.
The AITO M9 was officially launched on December 26, 2023 and started deliveries in February 26, 2024. By the second month, the M9 already exceeded 15,000 monthly deliveries and sales remained stable.

AITO M8 has the chance to further capture customer segments within the 300,000 - 400,000 CNY and compete with its EREV rival, Li Auto L8, priced between 321,800 - 367,800 CNY.
