MIIT filing discloses official images of NIO's Onvo L90, a 5.1 meters long SUV

The Onvo L90, an upcoming large flagship SUV under NIO’s mass-market sub-brand Onvo, has been officially listed in China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) vehicle catalog, confirming its imminent launch.

The filing discloses key details about the model, which targets family buyers with its spacious three-row layout and versatile powertrain options.

The L90 is Onvo’s second model after the L60, emphasizing interior space and family usability and will hope to regain the brand’s momentum after missing its 20,000 units sales in March and the subsequent resignation of its former President, Alan Ai.

NIO has previously teased the L90 as a “family space flagship SUV” with camouflaged photos.

The L90 will make its first public appearance at the Shanghai Auto Show and is expected to debut in Q2 2025 with sales starting in Q3.

The L90 measures 5,145 mm in length, 1,998 mm in width, and 1,766 mm in height with a wheelbase of 3,110 mm, positioning it as a large SUV, similar to the Li Auto L9 or AITO M9.

Two variants are listed: a single-motor version with NIO’s proprietary 340 kW motor and a dual-motor setup combining 100 kW and 340 kW units.

Currently, the Onvo L60 offers a 60 kWh CATL LFP and 85 kWh CALB NMC, providing up to 555 km and 730 km of CLTC range, respectively.

Other highlights include a top speed of 200 km/h, seating for six, and tire options up to 21 inches. The curb weight ranges from 2,250 kg to 2,300 kg, depending on configuration.

NIO aims to double sales in 2025 by delivering 440,000 vehicles, including 220,000 Onvo cars.
